Jordan Hunter is a Ph.D. student at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and data analyst for the Obseving Civic Engagement project.
We are adding to our research team and hiring interns for both our summer and fall 2023 positions(for between 10 – 29 hours/week). We are looking for undergraduate or graduate students who reside in Bloomington and have an interest in civic engagement, social science, and quantitative research.

Kris Anderson is a second year MPA student studying Policy Analysis and Information Systems at O’Neill. Kris graduated with a BA in Communication with concentrations in Sociology and Environmental Science from Berea College in 2019.

Megan Bankowski is pursuing an MPA with a concentration in energy and climate change at the O'Neill School. She graduated with a BS in Public Affairs in 2023. Megan currently works as the Graduate Assistant to the Civic Leaders Center and as a member of the City Environmental Commission. She proudly hails from Ann Arbor, MI, and enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.
Paige Benner is a junior at the O'Neill School majoring in Policy Analysis, minoring in international studies, and pursuing a certificate in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from IUPUI. Paige is a civic leader alumnus, has interned for the Indiana chapter of Common Cause, and has an op-ed published in the Indy Star about civic engagement.

Nayeli Campos
Nayelli is currently an undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington pursuing a major in Law Public Policy with a Financial Literacy minor. Nayelli is involved in with Latinos Unidos and Women in Law. She dedicates her summers to community service and at her local library.
Anna Carstens
Anna Carstens is an undergraduate student from Minneapolis, Minnesota studying Nonprofit Management. Anna is involved in several student organizations on campus including Women in Government, Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, and the Civic Leaders Center.
Valeria Colmenarez is a freshman on the pre-law track at Indiana University pursuing an Economic Consulting and Finance major with a Media Persuasion minor. Outside the classroom, she is an active member of an IU student-run literary magazine, the Civic Leaders Center, and a tutor for the K204 program at the Kelley School of Business.

Mallory Hockemeyer
Mallory Hockemeyer is a sophomore majoring in Global Studies and Germanic Studies while earning a certificate in Nonprofit Management. Outside of classes, Mallory is involved in student organizations including Chi Alpha, the Student Athletic Board, and she volunteers as a high school youth group leader. Mallory also serves on a fundraising team to support an international nonprofit called Destiny Rescue.
Leslie Lara
Leslie Lara is a junior studying Law and Public Policy with a minor in psychology. Leslie is an active member of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. and participates in the Lily Scholars Network during her studies at Indiana University.
Connor Livingston
Connor Livingston is currently pursuing his MSHM degree with the O’Neill School of Public Health. After graduating, Connor hopes to acquire a career that combines his passion for research and community outreach.

Maleeha is a freshman studying Environmental Management and Law and Public Policy. Outside of school Maleeha is the Executive Director of Susuaville and is a member of Students for a New Green World.

Sarah Pritchett is a first-year graduate student currently pursuing an MPA with a concentration in Community and Economic Development. Sarah’s experience in Civil Society Organizations includes her work with the Global Alliance for Rights of Nature Youth Hub, Solarize Evansville, and Solarize Indiana more broadly.

Alexa Weber
Alexa Weber is a freshman at Indiana University pursuing a major in Healthcare Management and Policy with a minor in Business. Alexa also participates in Hutton Honors College while studying at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Drew Yeager
Drew Yeager is an undergraduate at Indiana University Bloomington, an Intern at the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, Parliamentarian and Off-Campus Housing Representative of the IU Student Body Congress, and is expected to graduate with an Environmental Management degree in 2026. Drew has had a lifetime dedication to nonprofit organizations locally and internationally, as well as a passion for civic responsibility and engagement.
Qidi is a graduate student majoring in Public Affairs and Environmental Science. She is also a Research Assistant in the field of Environmental Science Education for the local community. Her academic interests include Gamification Education Energy Consumption and Behavior Change.
